I quit my job, I bought a one way ticket, and I flew to the other side of the world.

September Goals
Well, this is serious déjà vu. It feels like just yesterday I was writing last year's September Goals...

Perspective
I've been suffering from a serious case of overthinking. Everything that can be thought about, has been thought about. I feel on edge, restless, distracted. I just can't seem to shut off this silly little mind of mine.

May Goals
Happy 1st of May! This year is flying by already! Now that I'm back to normality, it's time to sort out my life and start making plans. Although I haven't quite figured out "the bigger picture" just yet, I always find making smaller goals are a good way to put some sense of order and control back into your life. Plus, everyone loves the satisfaction of ticking things off your to do list!

10 Things You'll Learn at University
So now I've finished my degree I feel like I should share my university wisdom with you all like some wise old university guru. Going to university is definitely a life changing decision, and odds are you'll come out the end of it a slightly different, hopefully better and more mature (there's still time...) person than that little fresher tentatively moving into a big strange place all those years ago. So whether you're planning on starting uni this September and are curious to see what's ahead, are already at uni and need some reassurance, or are finishing uni and would like to know you're not alone, here are my top 10 things that you'll learn at university (alongside all that education stuff of course):

Early quarter-life crisis
I guess there are a lot of moments in people's lives where they have a bit of an identity crisis. I think I've hit mine.

10 things to do when you're feeling down
The January Blues. Almost everyone gets them. It's cold, wet, windy, the Christmas festivities are over, we're back to work... No wonder it's so easy to start feeling a bit down in the dumps. But don't worry, you can get yourself back up again! Here's my list of simple ways to help you beat the blues and put that smile back on your face!

Keep going

Life has annoying little habit of not always going the way you want it to.

Keep Smiling!
Maybe it's the crazy apocalyptic weather, the looming deadlines (for me at least), or the prospect of another lonely Valentines day (personally I'm beyond caring, single Valentines is all I know!), but I've found myself slipping into a bit of a slump this week. And by the sounds of it, I'm not the only one! So I think it's time for a little pick-me-up.

Live in the Moment
So I just finished reading “Signs of the Times” (1829) by Thomas Carlyle for my course. No, I’m not going to review it, apart from say that it wasn’t the most thrilling read... However, I did find it actually has a pretty strong message that I think we could all learn from:
“The poorest Day that passes over us in the conflux of two Eternities;
it is made up of currents that issue from the remotest Past, and flow onwards
into the remotest Future.”
MY TRANSLATION:
Stop living in the past, stop worrying about the future, just enjoy the now.
